JAZZY jazz jazz. today we made our improvisations for the 12 bar blues. i think that the 12 bar blues song had sum voodoo inside. i mean, it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE for me to not remember that song. its like a catchy commercial song that see on TV. after noting down the improvisations, we listened to sum of the JAZZ presentations. We played "All Of Me" again at the instrument class. i did better. but then i had the chords messed up, but this ALL OF ME, mght be the funnest song to learn yet. STAY JAZZEY! :D

the most un-fun part about this whole JAZZ thing. THE REPORT! mygat it was somewhat frustrating, i mean, getting the grammars right, putting it the right picture, summing up everything online, going through the artists one by one. all though in the end i did put pictures to fill up the 15 pages (peace). well today we gave our 12 bar blues note to Mr.Herry. I lost my paper, so i had to copy ade's chords. but i think i did well, it might sound pretty good.

TODAY, we listened to the improvisations that the others made. W-O-W they are GOOD. mine sucked. well thats because i got the chords all wrong, but uhm, no worries, ade and tiff got it all wrong too, well partially because i cheat off ade's paper, and she copied tiffany's SO! its tiffs fault! loljk tiff. again, we get to listen to the super catchy-yet-annoying 12 bar blues song. thennn, at the instrument class, we did the walking base. i think i failed. i mean, i can't play according to the score sheet. my fingers'll play whatever they want. WHICH IS BAD! :| it was hard for me to actually figure out what to hit next, cos my fingers were allways aiming for 1 3 5 7 1 7 5 3 2 rather than 1 2 3 5 1 5 3 2 . but i guess i'll just have to learn more then.

so today we perfected our 12 bar blues improv. noting down the final stuffs .. uhm making sure the chords are correct, cos i DONT WANT to repeat the same stupid mistake. then the class got into sum discussion about the HISTORY OF JAZZ. Andrew Sie talked about something-a-majigy about how .. jazz was like THAT, and not like THIS. it was (to be honest) boring LOL. i dont like histories, or anykind. but at least i did manage to get the 12 bar blues done. at the instrument class, we played the "ALL OF ME" song AGAIN! .. i did somewhat better now, but i still got to do more practice!

today was pretty much fun. we listened to the all the "all of me"s from the other instruments. they WERE (as usual) AWESOME! i still need lost and lots of practice to play perfectly. at the instrument class, we did the "All of Me" again.. and again. i helped Jeok with her part. She was awesome. and i played like junk. the walking base part is .. doable, but i still need to practice the right melodies, and chords.

today is the first day of music class! we took notes about Jazz and what we'll be learning. we also got handouts. i think that jazz is going to be a fun topic to study! at the instrument class we learned a new song called, ALL OF ME. i did somewhat okay, considering the fact that i dont do reading. i'll practice more on sight reading!

today we sang "SWAY" by Michael Buble per Instrument Group. then we chose out members for the upcoming JAZZ presentation. My topic is bebop. PERSONALLY, i know NOTHING about bebeop. not. a. single. clue! so that means that i gotta put sum extra effort to research. we played "All OF Me" at the instrument class, surprisingly i did better then the last time and i think that was because i accidentally memorized the song while the others are playing. but still, i gotta practice more on reading!

Today we sang "Sway" again, and then we brainstormed about the Jazz Presentation, me and my group (Calista, Hasan, and Mark) did some cool things, well by cool things, i meant coloring the paper, and filling it up with rainbows and ponies instead of ideas. but it was fun, i guess we have to be more serious next time :)

ITS THE ASSESSMENT. BUM BUM BUM. today is the long waited assessment for the song "Sway". I sang with Jeok, who is, of course, my partner. yea, we're a one package deal. LOL. too bad me and jeok got an 8 .. or was it a 7? its somewhere in between. i think we got lows because we ddnt dance. i mean, unlike the other singers, who were, surprisingly, confident enough to embarrass themselves in front of everybody, me and Je-ok preffered to stay LOOOWWW. well i guess dancing would be a fun thing to try, next time then!

assessment daaay! today is our most waited for ASSESSMENT day. i performed Tarrantella with cold hands. i did absolutely AWFUL! dang, my hands were LITERALLY shaking! well i mean, i thought we were going to perform in front of the instrument class, but , as usual, i was wrong. and lemme tell you this, playing in front of the whole class is not at all easy! maaan, i wish i could redo the assessment :(

TODAY! we watched the saxophone and the flute assessment, after that we took notes, as usual, and we learned sum more about the 7th chord and others. in the instrument class, we played those 7th chords, i aced it. it was easy LOL. we learned some of the major and minor chord as well.

Here comes August

We did the same old same old chords again, and also the major and minor scales. I took sum notes about the G scale. everything went alright till i have to play B minor. dayumm, B minor was hard! oh, and i've picked out the song that i wanted to play for the assessment, its called "Tarrantella"

So we were playing "The River Flows in You". it was soo dang fun because everybody decided to join in. the class went by as usual, and we practiced our songs for the assessment. i did my song with the pedal today, but it turned out to be uglier than it was before. soo i guess i gotta practice my pedals and stuffs.

We sang "Heal The World" today, then we (again) practiced the assessment song. we also did the minor scale.

Today, we learned the seccond song called "Indonesia Raya" then we studied sum chord inversions. then after that, we get together with our music group and discussed our project. I played my song for the assessment today and Mr.Herry says i got 7 out of 10, which is, in my opinion, pretty bad. i need to improve on my hand motions and the fingering.

Today, i watched the guitar, flute, and piano performance, MAAN, they were BEYOND awesome! they ROCK! wow i think almost everybody is ready for the assessment! and at the instrument class, everyone got a chance to perform. i did my song, and i think i am getting better, but still better is not GOOD enough, so gotta practice practice and practice!

Today we presented our presentation. My group did the Latin Genre. i think i did BEYOND ugly. i mean, i was shivering, and i think words were like stuck inside my mouth. and then Mr.Herry commented on the background color, he said that it cannot be gray, because gray is dull. and he also told us to speak closer to the mike, which was, in fact, hard :|

Babump Babump. This was my first ever music class in the new school. Being new would be something that i suck at. The last time that I became a new student, friendless and dumb, was at pre-school.All that came up in my head was "i have to survive" Music Class doesn't seem that scary, I mean, I do love music. I get to know the teachers, my classmates and learn better about the instrument class.SO, we gotta choose one instrument for the instrument class. Unknowing that an audition was expected, I signed my name up for piano.

but then, the teacher told us that he wanted an audition.My hands went cold. so did my legs, and my brain. AUDIENCE was one of my worst fears.BUT LOOKIE THAT, I made it! even though the song that I played utterly sucked and was utterly ugly. but I made it.

We practiced chords today, loads of major easy peasy chord. i think i did well. oh, and we also get to prepare one song for the assessment, and i think i fail this part. LOL. its dang hard to play one song from beginning till the end, and i ended up playing a bunch of lame songs, and none of em are good. gotta practice my piano playing! :|
